NEW FEATURES IN CAMTASIA RELAY 3.1
Faster transfer speeds to encoder
Camtasia Relay uses a new recording codec that captures the same quality while using less file space. These smaller, original recordings will result in shorter upload times for everyone, including those who are off-campus.
Smoother playback
Camtasia Relay recordings now have increased frame rates, raised from 10 frames per second to 15 frames per second. This means that content such as videos with lots of motion will play smoother than before.
Fuse camera recorder for iOS devices
TechSmith’s Fuse app for iOS devices with cameras such as the iPhone 4, fourth-generation iPod touch, or the iPad 2, can be used to record video for upload to UCI Replay. The process is as easy as logging in, capturing the video, and submitting. You can find the Fuse app on the iTunes App Store or the download page and further instructions on our Quick References Guides page.
NEW FEATURES IN CAMTASIA RELAY 3
Automatic audio leveling
The automatic audio leveling feature automatically adjusts the volume of the sound recorded by the microphone. When the speaker’s volume increases or the speaker gets closer to the microphone, Camtasia Relay will reduce the volume of the recording. When the speaker’s volume decreases or the speaker gets farther from the microphone, Camtasia Relay will raise the volume of the recording. This is done intelligently without user input.
This feature can be turned on or off by pressing the Auto button in the Audio Input Level section of Camtasia Relay. For more information, go here.
Closed captions
Camtasia Relay allows for closed captions on presentations, complete with presenter control of the captions. The audio from your recordings can be transcribed automatically into captions which are then easily editable and modifiable by the presenter.
Improved presentation search
The search feature in Camtasia Relay has been improved to better find words or phrases that the presenter said or displayed on a slide.
Presenter dashboard
Camtasia Relay offers a new dashboard layout and an alert system to prompt presenters with presentation updates and captions in need of editing.
